KC Holiday Party

I went in to help set up for Brayton's holiday party.  Lucky for him (and me) he has the BEST teachers.  We love Ms. Day and Mrs.  Pike.  They had everything decorated so cute and festive.  Although I do love his little school and his teachers, I miss the emphasis on Jesus during this time of year...guess that's what you get with public schools, though...so sad!  Atleast we did our part at home.

They made the cutest bag full of crafts and ornaments...I was VERY impressed :-)

Terrific Kid

Well, we already knew he was TERRIFIC, but it's nice to see that someone agrees with us :-)

Brayton was the "Terrific Kid" for December.  He was thrilled about this accomplishment.  He was most excited about shaking the principal's hand.  He has the BEST principal, by the way.  THE BEST.  We love him!

Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Grandpa and Ge Ge were all there to support our Terrific Kid.

He's on the bottom row...3rd from the left :-)

Here is what Ms. Day had to say about my pookie bear:

"Brayton is a wonderful student to have in KC.  He is kind and caring towards his teachers and friends.  Brayton always goes above and beyond in everything he does.  He strives to do his best and excels in academics due to his determination and hard work.  We are very proud of our Terrific Kid, Brayton!"

That makes me smile and does my heart so much good.  I love him so much and he makes me one proud Momma!!

My Little Wrestler...

I Scream, You Scream....

we all scream for ICE CREAM!!!

Thank goodness for warmer weather.  It is bringing us outside more.  We were out enjoying the nice weather Friday afternoon when we heard the ice cream truck.  Brinlee's eyes lit up and she started dancing around to the music.  She had NO IDEA it was the ice cream truck, she just liked the music.  Well, Daddy thought otherwise.  He immediatley ran off to find some money...and off he went to get his girl some ice cream :-)

Summerville Classic

Brayton wrestled in his first tournament today (Saturday).  It was a long, stressfull, tiring day.  It's nerve wracking and very INTENSE.  I am a nervous wreck the entire time he wrestles and right before he goes up.  I was secretly hoping he would not like it. Well, he likes it.  A LOT.  Why can't we just stick to soccer?  Those little boys are ROUGH and HARD CORE.

He has had two previous matches (past 2 Sundays).  He tied his first (7-7) and won the last one (17-2).  The tournaments are different then the matches because you get to wrestle more than once.  It's an all day event.
ALL DAY.

The first match was with a little boy from Walterboro...it was very intense and a very close match.  So hard to watch.  UGH.  Poor Brayton got his first taste of "not winning".  7-5.

My poor baby took it like a man on the mat.  He held his head high, shook hands with his opponent and walked off.  As soon as he got away by himself  he got upset and cried.  I felt so bad for him, but at the same time, he needed to experience losing.  It's part of life.  It would be much easier to lose a soccer game or board game, though.  HA! The second match was equally as rough, only this time it was 8-5.  Both matches were sooooo close.  He did great and we are so proud of him.  He always tries his very best and everything he does.

Little pep talk from the coach

On the bright side...little man brought home a medal for 3rd place!!!

Two of Brayton's classmates wrestle, too!  It's fun to have some buddies to hang out with during the long wait!

A Birthday Cake and Gingerbread House

We made a birthday cake for Jesus this year.  It's something I hope to do with the kids each year.  Brayton chose the icing color and did all the sprinkles himself.  He was very proud of his cake, so we took it over to GeGe's with us for Christmas Eve.

Brinlee was pretty proud, too!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!!!

While we were in the kitchen we decided to create our gingerbread house, too...another tradition :-)  That's one of the reasons I LOVE CHRISTMAS SO MUCH.  I love all the traditions and family time together.  Gotta love making memories!

Parade Day

One of our many Christmas traditions is attending the annual Summerville Christmas Parade.  Well, this year we mixed it up a little and we were actually IN the parade.  At first, I was a little sad thinking we might miss something or it might not be as fun.  Well, let me just tell you- we had a BLAST and I can not wait to do it again next year!

Mom and Sharon entered the "shop truck" so we just threw some garland on it and threw some cute kids in the back :-)

Jr, Ernest and Chase drove and sat up front. Me, Mom, Sharon, Tiff and the rest of the crew sat in back and sang Christmas carols (and Brayton and Kylee screamed Merry Christmas to everyone).

Did I mention it was COLD?!?

And thanks to Aunt Sharon, we had to listen to this most of the ride!

We were in the front of the parade so once we were done we got to park and watch the other 1/2 of it...and we got to see Santa again...woo hoo!!!
