My Poor Baby...

Oh what a day!   Brinlee and I were on the way out the door to pick Brayton and Kylee up from school.  Today was the 100th day of school and ERD (Early Release Day)...so we planned on doing something FUN.
Brinlee walks to the van now, carrying her sippy cup, baby and whatever else she's interested in at the time.
All I can remember is opening the van door and Brinlee falling into the door frame.  She started screaming and when I picked her up all I could see was blood pouring from her eye.  I could see that it was split open pretty good.  As soon as I picked her up, she stopped crying.
I'm still not sure how or why...but I managed to remain very calm.  Unbelievalbe, right?
I made a couple phone calls and mom met me to get the car rider #'s and picked the kids up.
I drove straight to Doctor's Care and Frank met me there.
Brinlee did not shed  a tear the entire way there.

All I can say was that it was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!
My poor baby was in a straight jacket!  They had everything tied down, even her pretty little head.
They first tried to put steri stips on it, but that wasn't working.  So they had to give her stitches. OUCH!
I was so hoping I was wrong and it wouldn't need anything, but I just had that gut feeling as soon as I saw it.  She screamed until she was purple, "MOMMY, DADDY, LET ME GO...MOMMY, DADDY....UH-OH, UH-OH, UH-OH!!!" Bless her little heart, it was so pitiful.
I felt so horrible...all I could do was rub her little leg and look away..  It seemed like it took FOREVER, too.
I couldn't wait to get her in my arms and comfort her and kiss and hold her.
She ended up getting 3 dissolvable stitches.  The good news is they will dissolve, so she will not have to be put through that again.  The bad news is that they are suppose to stay covered and dry.  Because of where it is located, we couldn't bandage it without putting a patch over her eye...so we just have to do our best.

Once we got all that behind us, we had a pretty good day.  We ended up going to Olive Garden for lunch with Daddy.  Then we all went to Just Like Home PlayHouse.
It's a cute little house that basically has a themed playroom in every room.  The kids really love it.

Oh, and as soon as we got home Frank started cleaning out the garage.
He swears his baby fell because of all the clutter...sadly, I'm sure he's right :-(

I still feel so guilty and HATE that my precious baby had to go through all of that.
I know it was only 3 stitches, and I am so thankful for that.
We are so blessed to have healthy, thriving children.
Thank You, Jesus!

100th Day of School

Today was the 100th day of school.  It's hard to believe that, isn't it?  Seems like just yesterday I was having anxiety attacks about him going into kindergarten, now it's just a part of life.  The school makes a pretty big deal of this.  His classroom had a "100 Day Party".  They had snacks and activites that revolved around 100.
He also had a project to do.  He had to find a group or make something out of 100 items.  You could do just about anything...straws, paperclips, pennies..whatever!  The teachers want this on poster board so they can hang them throughout the halls.  Brayton first chose legos, but he soon changed his mind because that was just too boring.  We decided on something a little more FUN :-)

We did 100 fingers!

Uh-Oh...SORRY!!

Everything that comes out of Brinlee's mouth is cute...but one of my favorite things is "uh-oh sorry!"
I hear in 100 times a day.  She uses it for EVERYTHING.
Everything she does, everything I do...it's so darn cute and sweet :-)

20 months

Brinlee Cate is 20 months old today!

It's sad that my baby is now closer to 2 than 1!!

Brinlee is learning more and more everyday.  She is starting to say more.  She talks A LOT, we don't always understand her, but she has plenty to say.  She sings, she screams, she dances and she pretends.

She ALWAYS says "thank you" and sometimes says "please".

If you give her an ink pin, lap top and cell phone...she'll stay busy for a long time.
She loves having her hair played with and her nails done.  Ge Ge gave her her first pedicure a few weeks ago.  She says "no" with a sassy voice.  She likes to stick her fingers in her nose just to get a reaction, ha! ha!
She sings "Dora the Explorer" with the correct tune.  She does the  same with the ABC song.
She LOVES necklaces, rings, shoes and handbags.  She likes to walk around in my shoes.

She likes playing video games with her big brother

.  She calls for her daddy all day long.  She is definitely becoming a daddys girl!  No matter what it is or when it is...if he is eating something, she wants to be right on his lap eating it with him!!

She is the best little cuddle bear EVER!  When it's time for her to go to sleep she wants my arms wrapped around her.  She gives the best hugs and sweetest kisses.  She's still waking up a few times during the night for milk...but we'll work on that...oneday ;-)
She is still crazy about her mama and doesn't want me out of her sight.
She needs me to go to sleep...bless her heart...we'll work on that, too...oneday ;-)

She LOVES to write and color.  I think she's going to be creative!

And I do believe her cousin, Kylee is her hero!

This little girl has brought so much joy to our lives...
we love her so much and couldn't imagine our life without her!!!

Love you Brinny Win :-)

1st HAIRCUT

I finally gave in and got Brinlee's hair cut. I knew it needed to be done, but it was hard to let go of the baby hair..I know, I'm wierd. She had a little rat tail going on, so it definitely needed a good cut. We took her to a little boutique place in Mt Pleasant, Bangs N' Bows. We had to make it special for my girl :-)
(Going forward I'm sure Nana will keep Brinlee's haircut, but we wanted her first time to be special.)

After

She did soooo good.  She sat so still and I think she loved every minute of it.
I tell y'all, she is my little priss pot :-)  She is going to empty her daddy's wallet when she gets a little older!
 ha! ha!

waiting patiently for her cut

She got this cute little certificate...

It was just a little bit of hair, but it makes the BIGGEST difference.
And just like I thought it would...it makes her look older :-(

After Brinlee's haircut adventure, we went and had a delicious lunch at Queen Anne's Revenge.

What a wonderful day!!!

POTTY TIME!!

Brinlee got a pink potty chair and a potty doll for Christmas.  I don't want to rush things, but figured it'd be nice to have in the house...just in case ;-)  Well, low and behold my girl went PEE PEE and POO POO on the potty...twice!!  She hasn't been consistant with it, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

First Poo Poo 12/27

First Pee Pee 01/01

She was so proud of herself, she wanted everyone (Frank and Brayton) to come in and look at her. We clapped and made a big fuss about it all.  And of course she cheesed for the camera.  She also wanted to dump the goods in the big potty and wave bye-bye to it!  This is gross...but I took a picture of the poop and ALMOST posted it on here...Frank told me not to...ha! ha!  I'm sure you're thankful I didn't ;-)

In other potty news...when she does goes #2 in her diaper, she'll say "ewww gwoss...tink"....she'll also go grab the wipes and just lie down.  She makes me smile...A LOT ;-)

19 months

Again, this was suppose to be in December...the 22nd to be exact :-)

My little sweet pea is 19 months already!  I can't believe how big she is getting.  She is somthing else.  She loves shoes and hair bows (yay for me!) and anything girly.

Her favorite thing to do right now is go into my closet and get into my jewerly box. She has a habit of saying "HUH?!?" everytime you speak directly to her. It's pretty cute at first, but it gets old! HA! I'm pretty sure it's just a habit. She also says "UH-OH" a lot. She loves playing with baby dolls and LOOKING at dog-dogs (she doesn't want them too close). She likes music and loves to dance and sing. She gives the biggest, sweetest hugs ever! You can feel the love coming from her. She still sleeps with her mommy and she doessn't want me out of her sight...unless she's with Daddy.

She wants to follow her brother around EVERYWHERE!!  She loves him sooooo much!

She also loves her big cousin, Kylee.  She likes to have her picture taken, too (YAY for me again!).  She means the world to me and I love her to pieces!

more FUN stuff....

Our calendar was FULL for December.  On top of all the wonderful Christmas traditions we have, we had 2 weddings in December!!  Talk about a stressful month!!  Although it's impossible to post all the fun stuff we did, I'm trying my best to post SOME of it.

Brayton and I went caroling with the youth group from church.  It was our special night out.  We rode on the bus with them and he thought that was really cool!!  He sang his little heart out, too.

We had Santa visit our church, too..this time Brinlee was awake.  HA!

After our visit with Santa we watched Polar Express at church with a few kids (no pictures, sorry)!

Brayton's class has been talking about seasons.  I found this in his folder and it made my heart smile....BIG.
It's what WINTER means to him....

Isn't that just precious?  I think so :-)  When  I see things like this it makes me wonder if we are making the right decision with having him in public school.  He would./could learn so much more about Christ in a Christion School Environment....and he would ENJOY it.

Frank had a birthday, too...we don't want to forget our most special DADDY ;-)  Of course we went to our favorite place for lunch...WASABI.  We did a big party for his 30th and I plan doing something even bigger for his 40th...we still have a while to plan that one, though.

We went to James Island to see the lights (another traditon!) and made a pit stop to see "Little Grandma" AKA "Grandma Pete."  She is my GREAT grandmother...so Brayton and Brinlee's GREAT GREAT...how cool is that?!

Brayton adores her, he thinks she is so neat...I tend to agree :-)  She is so cute and sweet and so fun to talk to.  I feel bad that we don't go see her more, I'm going to make an effort to visit more often.  Brayton is already asking to go back.

We use to have all our big dinners at her house (Aunt Vaudell's), but as the family is grows, it gets harder. We REALLY like staying home on Christmas Day now with the kids.
She still buys all those kids a Christmas present, too!  Bless her heart!

Here we are at the lights...it was FREEZING that night (20's) so we stayed in the car!

And one day we were sitting at the house visiting with Tiffany, when all of sudden I heard sirens going off.  I immediatley jumped up and started screaming!!!  I knew what it was...it was SANTA on the firetruck!!!
He comes through the neighborhoods every year...and we've always been lucky enough to catch him ;-)
Brayton was in the shower so I ran in and quickly got him out.

Brinlee was asleep, so she missed the whole thing.

Haven and Tiffany were happy to be there for all the excitement!
