We'll take 2nd...

We're kind of getting use to 2nd!
Yesterday we wrestled for Lower State champs.
Brayton did AWESOME.  He got points for a forfit and he won the match he wrestled in.
We were undefeated as a team until the last match.  WOW- it was tough!
To make matters worse the parents were REALLY obnoxious!!

Good news is we still go to Columbia next weekend for a chance at State!!
Goooooooooo WAVES!

I am really getting into this wrestling stuff!  I will admit I hated it at first, but it is growing on me...and becoming quite addictive :-)  Already looking forward to next year!

**And Brayton's  nick name is "TRIGGER"...it's because he runs on all 4's so fast**
I've been told that Trigger was the name of Roy Roger's horse, who knew? HA!

My Floridian Girls....

My girls came for a visit.
They came to visit baby Hayden, but we were lucky enough to steal some of their time!
We met at McD's for the kids to play for a while...

then later that night, I tagged along with Julie for a girls night!
We were WILD and shut the Mustard Seed DOWN!!
It was so much fun and I laughed A LOT!!

Made realize just how much I miss my BFF :-(
and we definitely have to keep our eyes on these two!!

Green/Gold Tournament

The Summerville TakeDown Club had their end of the year tournament last weekend.
It was pretty much an all day event.  I am learning that wrestling is VERY time consuming!
Brayton did GREAT and came in 2nd place!!
We are so  proud of our boy...this is his first year and he has really fit right in with this sport.
He goes out there and gives it his all...he gives 110% each and every time!!
After the tournament they had a pizza party and presented the medals.
It was cute because they stood on pedestals (is that what they're called?) like the Olympics ;-)

He really thought he was something!!

Presidents

Well, Brayton has a new obsession....Presidents!

It all started when they started learning money in school.
He knows who is on all the coins, how they died, etc. etc.
His goal is to memorize ALL of them IN ORDER by the end of the school year.

So far he knows the first 10 (that's more than what I know- HA!) This should be very interesting!!

Valentines Day!!

We had a fantastic Valentine's Day! Busy, but fun!
It started out with a special breakfast (which Brayton did NOT eat...he isn't much of a breakfast eater).

Then we went out to one of our favorite places for lunch...California Dreaming.
I just LOVE their she-crab soup and salad!!

Brinlee loved the pasta!

We then headed downtown for a little birthday party at the Childrens Museum.
It was Zachary's birthday. He is in Brayton's class and also wrestle's with him.

After the museum we rushed to Stratford for one of Brayton's wrestling matches...
which he WON...yay Brayton :-)

Perfect day with some of my favorite people!!

Oh, and I can't forget to brag on how sweet and wonderful my husband is...he had roses and chocolates delivered to me! It was funny because Brayton declared up and down that I had a secret admirer...he said "daddy would never do that"! HA!! Glad Daddy taught him a lesson :-)

Snow Day

Saturday, February 13, 2010

What a day...

Today is a day I will remember for the rest of my life!!
We woke up to the most beautiful scenery and had the most FUN!!

If we estimated correctly I am guessing we got around 5-6 inches of snow in our yard.  We dressed in many, many layers and raced outside to build snow men, make snow angels and have snow ball fights!!
We started in our yard then ventured over to Ge Ge and Pa Pa's.  We lost power lastnight around 11:00 and didn't get it back up until around 6pm this evening.

It took a lot of practice before we realized how to build a snowman...I never knew you had to roll the ball in the snow.  Learn something new everyday :-)  The first snow man we built at home was a mound....

but by the time we got to Ge-Ge's, we were good enough to make a whole family :-)

Brayton had the BEST time.  He wanted to stay out in it all day long....even though his toes were frozen.

Brinlee didn't care of it much.  She really didn't know what to think.  Chase didn't like it either...ha! ha!

Poor Daddy Frank got called in to work.  At least we had some fun with himbefore he left .

We spent the rest of our afternoon with Aunt Sharon and Suzi...
just waiting for our power to get turned back on!

We made lots of memories today...hopefully it won't be another 21 years before we see this again!!

**I've created a slideshow but I am having difficulty getting it posted on here..maybe soon :-)**

let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

Stop the madness...it is SNOWING here!!

Frank and I are as bad as the kids...running around all excited ;-)
It started around 5:00 and it is now after 10 and it's still coming down pretty hard! Can't wait to wake up tomorrow to see what it's like!! I see a fun day ahead of us!
she did have a hat and gloves on...
but she took them off as soon as I turned my back!
More picturs to follow...hopefully of a nice, big snow man!!
OK, our lights are flickering on and off...not sure how excited we'll be with no power!

Date Day

Wednesday was Early Release Day (ERD) for Brayton.
I asked Aunt Tiffany to watch Brinlee for me so that Brayton and I could have a "date day".
He didn't want to go to lunch, or a movie...he wanted to do something "fun".
It has been FREEZING outside, so we decided to embrace this cold weather and go ice skating!!!
I've only been once before, and that was many, many years ago (and many, many pounds ago)!
We had a BLAST!!  Seriously...we laughed, we talked, held hands and learned to skate together.  It was the best time and it is a memory I will hold in my heart forvever.
I busted my behind one good time and he thought that was just so funny.
He started out with the "walker", but he was getting really good at it by the time we left (2.5 hours later).
There were several little girls there practicing figure skating, he was mesmorized by them.
He told me he was going to go over there to "show them how to skate." he! he!
He is ready to go back, and so am I!

Gettin' DIRTY!!

So...after school Brayton and Kylee found a mud hole in the woods behind the house.  They spent the entire afternoon playing and getting dirty!

It wasn't reallly THAT warm to have on a Tshirt and shorts, but he insisted.
He is really, really ready for Spring to get here (so am I)!

Kylee got her haircut..isn't it adorable??
They were pretending to be hunting for alligators ;-)

And Ms. Brinlee found herself a little bit of mud, too :-)
she wasn't really sure what to think of it at first...

then, of course...like everything else- it went her mouth!

YUM!

Weekend Review...on Wednesday ;-)

We had a great time this past weekend visiting with my grandma (Brayton and Brinlee's "Nanny").  I can't believe I didn't take the first picture!!  Sometimes it's nice just to lay the camera down ;-)  We relaxed, talked and ate a lot!  She's so much fun and we miss her so much when she leaves us!  While Nanny was here she was able to make Chase's birthday party and Brayton's wrestling match!
Chase's 3rd birthday party was at Celebration Town...which was a big hit.  I really thought Brinlee would be all over the place and climbing on everything.  She had a good time, but she mostlly ran around and danced!

Brin and Suzi dancing with the bubbles

She did have a good time sliding with Ge Ge

....and daddy!
this  is the only picture I got of Brayton...
he was literally running around the entire time!
He had a blast!
I've got to remember to bring them here more often.

Oh look...I did manage to take one picture of her....
Sharon and Nanny on the couch!
Happy Birthday, sweet Chase!
We love you!!!

Brayton's match was on Sunday and he had quite the crowd cheering him on...Mommy, Daddy, Ge Ge, Pa Pa, Nana, Grandpa, Mrs. Suzan, Sharon, Suzi, Nanny, Uncle David, Aunt Debbie.  We were loud, too. ha! ha!  He wrestled the same child that beat him the first time at the tournament...I was so nervous for him.  I could tell he recognized the little boy right away, too.  He did great.  I purposely left my video and camera in the car...and I wish I wouldn't have.  He won 12-6!  It was GREAT!  And the funny thing is he kept referring to himself as the "Hurricane"..ha! ha!  Except he pronounces it "HAIR-E-CANE".  He said he kept thinking in his head "who's the hurricane now??"
THAT BOY!!!

Career Week and Lipstick

It's career week at school and today the students were asked to dress up.

Meet Dr. Killiri, D.V.M.

For some reason this sounds very natural and fitting for Brayton!
He wants to be either an animal researcher or a vet.  I can totally see this happening!

He told his class all about his Uncle Tony working for NASA, too.
Daddy made a phone call and Uncle Tony made some arrangements....his class will hopefully be receiving a little packet from NASA this week.  Brayton is going to be very excited :-)

And just for fun...here is a picture of Brinlee getting into mischief.

She found my lipstick in her diaper bag...she had it all over herself!
She wasn't too happy when I took it from her, ha! ha!

And here she is today sportin' around in my shoes.

Her little eye is looking much better.  The scab is ready to come off, but the stitches are keeping it in place.
We're hoping it won't leave a scar!!
